To save some money on your Maui Lodging try using www.vrbo.com (Vacation Rental By Owner).With VRBO you are renting directly from the owner of the unit, cutting out the middle man and saving a few dollars for your trouble. Additionally with the current decline in Hawaii tourism and downturn in the economy there are some real deals out there.
As an example take a look at www.vrbo.com/112536. This is a 1 bedroom ocean front condo in Maalaea. We found it a couple of years ago and have stayed there twice. The standard off-season rate on the condo is $114. Today they’re offering a special June rate of $79 per night, a 30% savings. The offer may be extended to July and August.
