Slaughterhouse Beach (Mokule’ia Bay) Update

Slaughterhouse Beach PathDecember’s heavy rains have washed away much of the path leading to Slaughterhouse Beach. While the path is still passable, we suggest that if you’re not sure-footed you skip this beach for now.

Also a reminder that the beaches on this end of Maui can see some pretty rough surf this time of year. While we were at the beach a man came down with his snorkeling stuff. He stood there a few minutes watching the waves and decided to leave. A wise choice.

Located just past the mile marker 32 on hwy 30 past Kapalua, Slaughterhouse beach is popular with visitors. It’s about the length of a football field and 50 to 75 feet wide in most places. Because of the cliff face behind the beach there’s no sun until mid to late morning.

You can find Slaughterhouse Beach and many other places to see and things to do on our Maui Travel Map.
