Did You Know - Why is Kahului Airport’s designation OGG?
The designation OGG was given in honor of Lihue native and aviation legend Capt. Bertram J. Hogg. Capt. Hogg (pronounced Hoag) is credited with being one of the pioneering pilots who helped develop airline service in the Pacific. Capt. Hogg logged over 25,000 flying hours, most of it as a pilot for what is now Hawaiian Airlines.
